I painted this scene as an entry for the Wyoming Conservation Stamp Competition. The only two fish native to Yellowstone Lake are Yellowstone cutthroats and the longnose dace. I wanted to highlight these natives because of the intense work that Yellowstone National Park has done to restore Yellowstone Lake to its two native fish species.
