Endurance
"Endurance" took 3rd at the Wyoming Conservation Stamp Art competition. The Wolverine is one of my favorite predators. They seem to have endless endurance covering large territories in the mountains. This painting started with research at the Minnesota Zoo. I observed wolverines for a few hours and then drove back to Wyoming to plan and paint. The background I decided upon is along the Ham's Fork River in Southwest Wyoming. High mountain wilderness is where I imagine seeing one of these critters. I have not yet seen one in the wild. I believe someday I will cross the path of a Wolverine. I think of them as skunk-badgers on steroids.
